Ai Ming Oei, Rotterdam, Holland. Winning Entertainer: Ai Ming Oei is a singer and songwriter from Rotterdam who is bringing a strong fresh identity and passion to the Dutch music scene. Ai Ming Oei heard her true calling loud and clear. Barely out of high school, this Rotterdammer realized her penchant for lyrical dalliance and has channelled her sounds toward perfection ever since. Her band, Ming’s Pretty Heroes, are currently busy transiting from local celebrity to national stardom. More information on Ming’s Pretty Heroes can be found at http://www.mingsprettyheroes.com . TOUCH AND GO, the people of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Winning Citizens: This would be a story about how Amsterdam attracts many people who want to start from scratch — Like Denise, 26, a physiotherapist from Brazil who managed to marry her big love and stay in the city she loves the most or like John, 35, who has AIDS and works in a Sportsbar, feeling enslaved by his Chinese Boss, wondering how he chose to move there in the first place or like Elizabeth, 54, who is a rock`n`roll dwarf and makes ends meet by performing as Smurfette or as a street singer. Elizabeth claims that `Amsterdam is at its lowest point ever` and that the `yuppies all move here and kill the city´. By Suzana von Sukovich
