Dee Dee Jonrowe , Iditarod Dog Sled Race, Alaska. Winner Within Sports: The Iditarod Dog Sled Race is an 1100 mile race through the rugged interior of Alaska. No shortage of characters competing in that race. In 1996 Dee Dee was in a tragic car accident that took the life of her grandmother and hospitalized both her and her husband for an extended period. She continued to train for the race that year and came in 4th. In 2002 she competed 3 weeks after completing chemotherapy and finished in 18th. By James O’Neil

Melissa Thompson, Theodore Alabama. Winning Wife: She is my wife, and she is a winner to me and the kids because she keeps us going. Due to circumstances, fate, and life itself she is the one working, while I keep the two young un’s. It’s going to take more than an email for me to convey the whole story, but she is a winner because she is fighting cancer while she supports us.
